I worked as a production assistant for two major German TV stations from 2020 to 2026. My two main responsibilities were teleprompter operation and audio. I would equip our hosts with microphones and IEMs, make sure the equipment is in order, edit moderations and sync up scripts and spoken word in real-time. The live setting adds a unique form of pressure, and my time in the field has greatly aided my ability to work quickly and confidently while being given dense information from multiple conflicting sources.
